(in) Service Project: Grow My Plate

(in) Service is TASC's program for volunteer service and mentorship. Each week we plan an array of meaningful service projects throughout Northwest Arkansas. Through this program, we give teens opportunities to give back to the community in ways they never have before. We want them to come away from these experiences excited about serving their community, having met new friends, and having learned from one of the many awesome adult mentors that accompany them on projects. In 2019, our teens contributed over 2,000 hours of service and completed 400 projects throughout the region. Learn about one of our recent projects below.

(in) Service Project: Grow My Plate

Kim Jones of UAMS is working with (in) Service volunteers and youth in Washington County's Youth Reporting Center at The Station to do cooking demos and participate in a healthy foods curriculum. The curriculum involves taking home fresh produce, planning our planting schedule for our mobile raised bed gardens (we built as an earlier project) and joining Seeds That Feed, a local organization focused on the collection and redistribution of surplus healthy foods, to incorporate farm-fresh ingredients and take-home foods to families in need throughout the region in the Spring. Kim and her husband are two incredible examples of the adult mentors our teens get exposure to through (in) Service.

Please join us on Saturday, January 25 for All In 2020, our annual casino charity night presented by Jack Links, to learn more about the community impact of our programs like (in) Service. You can purchase tickets HERE.

We also have sponsorship packages available for the event. If you are interested, your sponsorship of the event will help provide mentorship, meaningful connections and hands-on experiences that equip teens with the skills they will need to thrive in the 21st century. Check out our sponsorship levels HERE.
